The Gulfstream American AA-5A is an American type-certificated fixed-wing aircraft utilized primarily for touring and flight training. It is configured as a four-seat, single-engine monoplane featuring an all-metal airframe and a sliding canopy that provides access over the wing root. Pilots appreciate its responsive handling characteristics and efficient cruising speeds.

Originating from an earlier two-seat design, the manufacturer enlarged the cabin dimensions to create a four-seat variant while maintaining significant parts commonality to reduce development costs. The series is notable for its bonded aluminum wing and honeycomb fuselage construction, which eliminates traditional rivets, alongside a free-castering nosewheel steered via differential braking.
