About the BO-105 Super Five

The Eurocopter BO-105 Super Five is a light, twin-engine, multi-purpose rotorcraft. Suited for various operations including rescue and police missions, it accommodates pilots and passengers in a traditional helicopter layout powered by a pair of turboshaft engines.

Developed by Bölkow in West Germany, the aircraft made its maiden flight in 1967 and introduced a pioneering hingeless rotor system. Manufacturing took place across multiple international facilities in Germany, Canada, Spain, Indonesia, and the Philippines, with production later overseen by Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm and Eurocopter until 2001. Over the course of its manufacturing run, more than one thousand units were built, making it a widely utilized utility helicopter.
