About the F172L

The Cessna 172 Skyhawk is an American single-engine, high-wing, fixed-wing aircraft featuring a four-seat cabin and tricycle landing gear. Well-suited for personal transportation, flight training, and aerial patrol work, it is powered by a single horizontally opposed piston engine and remains a staple of light general aviation.

Developed from the taildragger Cessna 170, the 172 made its initial appearance in the mid-fifties and evolved through numerous aesthetic and structural updates, including the introduction of a swept-back tailfin and rear-window visibility known as Omni-Vision. Licensed production also took place in France, and tens of thousands of units have been built across a production run spanning multiple decades, making it the most successful aircraft in history.
