About the C-34
The Cessna C-34 is a fixed-wing, single-engine cabin monoplane built to seat four people. Featuring a cantilever high-wing layout, it was designed with a welded steel-tubing fuselage framework covered in fabric and powered by a radial engine.
Following its initial completion and first flight at the Kansas plant, the aircraft quickly gained a reputation for efficiency, capturing the Detroit News Trophy for air racing. Continuous refinements over subsequent years led to upgraded successors in the series, including versions adapted for aerial photography and float operations, with several examples eventually utilized by military forces.
