About the Sopwith Pup
The Airdrome Aeroplanes Sopwith Pup is a British single-seat biplane fighter. Featuring a fabric-covered wooden framework, equal-span wings, and fixed cross-axle landing gear, it is operated by a single pilot and armed with a synchronized forward-firing machine gun.
Developed from a private runabout aircraft, the type entered service during 1916 with naval and flying corps units. It gained renown for its exceptional manoeuvrability and pleasant flying qualities during the First World War before being transitioned to home defense, training, and aircraft carrier deck landing experiments.
