About the AL-60 Turbine Grizzly

The Aermacchi AL-60 Turbine Grizzly is a fixed-wing light civil utility aircraft designed in the United States for operations in developing regions. Featuring a single piston engine and a conventional layout, it accommodates a pilot and passengers, making it suitable for general transport and utility work.

Originally drawn up by an experienced aeronautical designer to offer an economical platform outside the United States, the project was licensed to various international manufacturers in Mexico, Argentina, Italy, and South Africa. Over the years, production versions saw structural changes, such as transitioning from a tricycle undercarriage to a taildragger arrangement. Certain military operators employed the type extensively, and some survivors have since been retrofitted with turbine powerplants for roles like skydive release operations.

The AL-60 Turbine Grizzly is a variant of the Aermacchi AL-60.
