Cirrus Aircraft Opens New Warehousing Center in Duluth, Minnesota
Cirrus Aircraft has opened a 60,000-square-foot facility in Minnesota to support the fleet growth of its SR Series and Vision Jets.
On Thursday, Cirrus Aircraft inaugurated a new warehousing facility spanning 60,000 square feet in Duluth, Minnesota. According to the manufacturer, the expansion aims to accommodate the rising production of SR Series and Vision Jets. The company stated that the project enhances its infrastructure, footprint, and operational capabilities to aid in parts storage, product development, and aftermarket services.
The new building consolidates several satellite storage sites into a single centralized operation. The manufacturer reported that this consolidation improves the efficiency of receiving, storing, processing, and distributing parts. Zean Nielsen, the Chief Executive Officer of Cirrus, stated that the organization is investing in necessary infrastructure and capabilities to support its aircraft and owners throughout the ownership experience as the global fleet continues to grow. Nielsen added that the facility provides teams with greater capacity, supports production goals, aids continuous innovation, and helps the growing Upgrades and Accessories business.
Additionally, the new center supports broader Duluth operations and local team members by strengthening the framework behind manufacturing, service, and aftermarket activities. Founded in 1984, Cirrus produces the best-selling SR Series piston aircraft and the Vision Jet, which is recognized as the world's first single-engine personal jet and a recipient of the Robert J. Collier Trophy. The manufacturer is known for introducing the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System, the initial FAA-certified whole-airframe parachute safety system provided as standard equipment on every aircraft.
Worldwide flight time for aircraft built by the company exceeds 19 million hours. Furthermore, the inclusion of the whole-airframe parachute system as standard equipment has resulted in over 300 individuals returning home safely to their families. The company maintains seven sites across the United States, situated in Duluth, Minnesota; Grand Forks, North Dakota; Greater Dallas, Texas; Greater Phoenix, Arizona; Greater Orlando, Florida; Knoxville, Tennessee; and Benton Harbor, Michigan.
