Flight Expo, Inc. is offering our 1961 Piper PA-22-108 Colt, N108CS, for sale. This aircraft was donated to our nonprofit and became an extensive hands-on restoration project for students participating in Flight Expo's Build A Plane youth aviation program.

Rather than simply watching someone work on an airplane, our students had the opportunity to learn aircraft construction by actually doing it.

The Colt was completely disassembled, giving students the opportunity to work through the aircraft piece by piece. During the project, students participated in extensive restoration work including:

Re-skinning the fuselage

Re-skinning the wings

Re-skinning the tail surfaces

Work on the ailerons and flaps

Learning aircraft sheet-metal construction and repair techniques

Preparing components for the aircraft's eventual reassembly

Why We're Selling It

This is the difficult part for us.

The Colt has been much more than an airplane to Flight Expo. It has been a classroom where young people were able to put tools in their hands and discover how an aircraft is actually built.

Now we're ready for this project to move on to someone who can take it across the finish line.

100% of the proceeds from the sale will stay with Flight Expo, Inc. and help us finish our new hangar at the Princeton Municipal Airport. That facility will give us the space we need to continue our youth aviation programs, aircraft restoration projects, and hands-on aviation education.

So the person purchasing this Colt isn't simply buying an aircraft project.

They're helping us build the place where the next generation will learn to build airplanes.
