Detailed Description
Meet a true family heirloom of the skies! This wonderful Cub-type aircraft has been family owned and lovingly hangared since 1964 - over 60 years of care and pride, and it truly shows.
A Solid, Well-Loved Airframe
The fuselage was fully restored in November 2002, with every inch of tubing sandblasted and primed to guard against corrosion for years to come. She's equipped with wing and tail strobes for great visibility, lifetime struts you'll never have to worry about, and a handy Cub Crafters under-seat baggage compartment for all your gear. ROSEN sun visors keep the glare down, while instrument post lights with a dimmer make evening flights a breeze. The elevators are air-balanced for smooth, easy handling, and she carries a 1,750 lb gross weight STC for added utility. On the ground she's outfitted with Dodge safety cables, Steve's brake boosters, Scott parking brakes, an AOSS suspension system, and 8.00x6" tires with Wittman/Bodel disc brakes, plus Consolidair #17 fenders. A full ski setup - Aero Model #1800 skis and a Burl's Model #32 tail ski - means winter flying is just as much fun as summer.
Reliable Power Up Front
Starting up is a snap with the Skytech Flyweight starter, and she stays charged with an Interav alternator. All hoses are lifetime units, and she's set up with an AirWolf remote oil filter, an M-20 oil separator, and a Bracket air filter to keep things running clean. The carb air box was professionally reconditioned by Rubbert, and she's fitted with a Steve's Gasolator and an EZ-Heat oil sump heater for those chilly mornings. She also carries the Auto-Gas STC for flexibility at the pump, and turns a dependable Sensenich M74DM-0-52 propeller.
Modern Avionics, Classic Charm
Don't let the classic looks fool you - she's ready for real-world flying with a Narco Com #810 radio, a Narco AT-150 transponder, an ACK encoder, and a Garmin #920 GPS. A 2-place intercom makes it easy to chat with your passenger or student over the engine.
Comfortable Inside and Out
Step inside and you'll find Airtex seats and interior, finished beautifully with Randolph dope for a durable, classic look. The interior was redone in 1984 and still looks great, and a brand-new floor was installed in November 2002.
This is the kind of airplane that's been cherished, not just owned - cared for by the same family for decades, flown often, and maintained with real pride. Whether you're after a fun tailwheel trainer, a backcountry explorer, or a classic to enjoy on a sunny (or snowy!) weekend morning, this one is ready to bring you joy for many more years to come. Come take a look - we think you'll fall in love just like we did!
Remarks
The aircraft has been family owned and hangared since 1964. A straight cub with no trim tabs.
