About the Sinus
The Pipistrel SINUS is an ultralight motor glider originating from Slovenia and Italy. Suited for recreational soaring and touring, this two-seat, single-engine aircraft features a high-wing cantilever monoplane layout and composite construction.
Conceived through a collaborative effort, the prototype took its first flight in the late twentieth century. The design later served as the foundation for several related family models and variable wingtip options that enable a quick transition between a soaring configuration and a sport cruiser. Throughout its operational history, the type has achieved notable successes in international air games, round-the-world record flights, and transoceanic crossings.
