About the M-20K Encore
The Mooney M-20K Encore is a fixed-wing, type-certificated aircraft designed in the United States. It functions as a four-seat, single-engine transport featuring a low-wing configuration and retractable landing gear, making it well-suited for personal travel and cross-country touring.
Originating as the twentieth design by Al Mooney, the series first flew in nineteen fifty-three. Early variants utilized wooden wing structures, which were later replaced with metal due to maintenance issues, though the metal-skinned fuselage combined a steel-tube cabin structure with a semi-monocoque aft section. Across multiple decades and several production interruptions, thousands of aircraft in the M20 family have been manufactured.
