About the BK-117B

The Eurocopter-Kawasaki BK-117B is a rotorcraft equipped with two engines and a utility layout, suited for passenger transport, VIP services, and emergency medical missions.

Born from an international collaborative agreement between West German and Japanese industrial partners, the program divided responsibilities between airframe structures and dynamic systems. Separate assembly lines were established in both countries following maiden flights of their respective prototypes. The type eventually evolved into later generations of successful multi-role helicopters.
