About the Kitfox

The Denney Aerocraft Kitfox is a single-engine, high-wing kit aircraft featuring a side-by-side two-seat layout. Built primarily for recreational and sport flying, it is specifically designed to deliver strong short-field capabilities and operate from unprepared or short landing strips.

Created by Dan Denney in Boise, Idaho, the prototype first flew in the mid-1980s. The type evolved through numerous generations and variants, ranging from early models to specialized back-country designs like the Outback and lightweight single-seat versions. Thousands of examples have been sold and completed worldwide, cementing its legacy in the homebuilt aviation community.
