About the DA-2

The Davis DA-2 is a light, fixed-wing homebuilt aircraft designed in the United States for amateur construction enthusiasts. It features a conventional low-wing monoplane layout with a fixed tricycle undercarriage, a slab-like fuselage, and a distinctive V-tail. The cabin provides side-by-side seating for a pilot and a single passenger, powered by a single horizontally-opposed four-cylinder piston engine.

The prototype made its public debut at an annual aviation gathering, earning recognition for its outstanding design and popularity among builders. Designed specifically to simplify assembly for first-time constructors, the airframe utilizes sheet aluminum construction paired with minimal curved components. Completed examples have been actively operated by builders in multiple countries.
