About the 305
The Brantly 305 is an American type-certificated rotorcraft designed as a light helicopter capable of carrying five people. Developed as a larger derivative of a previous two-seat model, it features a single piston engine and an expanded cabin layout with side-by-side forward seating alongside a rear bench.
Following its initial flight in the mid-sixties, the aircraft obtained type approval shortly thereafter. Modest numbers were constructed during its initial production run, with subsequent attempts by later enterprises to introduce improved or more powerful versions resulting in very few additional completions or remaining unbuilt prototypes.
