About the 427

The Bell Helicopter Textron Canada 427 is a Canadian type-certificated rotorcraft built for multirole light utility operations. It accommodates up to eight occupants in a two-plus-three-plus-three seating layout, which can also be modified for medical evacuation duties. Power is supplied by twin turboshaft engines equipped with digital engine controls, driving a four-blade main rotor system.

Developed in partnership with South Korean industry, this model was the manufacturer's first aircraft designed entirely on computers. Final assembly took place in Canada while structural components were built overseas. Although an upgraded variant was planned, the program ultimately concluded to make way for a larger successor model.

{# the label links to these aircraft for sale, built in that span. On the label and not the count: the bands count every aircraft on the market (on_market) while the grid shows only those with a photo (live), so the count is not a promise of how many cards appear. A band cached before year_min existed renders as plain text rather than a link to an unfiltered list. #}
