About the Airtourer

The Aesl Airtourer is an all-metal, low-wing monoplane touring and training aircraft featuring a fixed tricycle landing gear and a single engine. Originating from a winning competition design submitted in Britain, it was initially developed by enthusiasts and manufacturers in Australia before production rights were later acquired by a firm in New Zealand.

The aircraft is configured with interconnected ailerons and flaps, a steerable nosewheel, and space for luggage. Initial production was undertaken by a company best known for lawn mowers until operations were suspended due to a lack of government protection or subsidies. Manufacturing subsequently continued overseas, and an airframe of this type was notably used for a record-breaking global circumnavigation flight.
