Airframe
- This is one excellent Cessna 172N!
- Brand new custom-made upholstery & carpet; October 2026
- Rosen sunshields, Cessna's originals were so annoying!
- Roof windows (that are perfectly tight)
- Wheel pants included, although the airplane is presently flown without pants ("wheel" pants, that is. It's a good policy to keep your own pants on, regardless of flight configuration).
- Cockpit cover included too
- The landing, nav and anti-collision lights were all upgraded to LED.
Engine
N5318E came to us with Power Flow tuned exhaust. It's a great feature. 18E's performance is very strong, especially on takeoff, climb, go-around, Chandelles, Lazy Eights: all those times you'd like extra power. It's truly equal to a 180 horsepower engine!
Avionics
- No. 1 NAVCOM
- KX 155a with glideslope
- No. 2 NAVCOM
- MX 385 with glideslope
- GPS
- KLN 89b
- Transponder/ ADS-B
- GTX 335
Single axis S-TEC autopilot, which is a lovely feature if you want to consult a map (some of us still do), take a bite of your sandwich or a gulp of coffee - without having to practice unusual attitude recovery afterwards; and spill coffee all over your lap.

Detailed Description
If looks matter, you'll want our 1978 Cessna 172N Skyhawk with brand new custom-made gun metal grey Naugahyde upholstery and tailored light grey carpeting, even in the baggage and shelf areas. N5318E has been meticulously maintained since we bought her in 2014. Our mission, in addition to family cruising, has been to train pilots and to ferry animals from shelters up and down the East Coast to forever homes as far away as Minnesota.
Performance is 18E's hallmark; her standard 160 horsepower O320-H2AD Lycoming engine is enhanced by Power Flow tuned exhaust which extracts an additional 20 HP from the power plant right when you appreciate it most. We've flown almost exclusively from Class C and 18E's extra power is equal to the demanding requirements of that airspace. In addition to engine performance, its avionics package gives you the excellent clear communication and precise GPS navigation which are essential to keep you out of trouble with the controllers. The single axis autopilot takes away a great deal of workload, not only when it's time for your coffee or sandwich, but when dealing with ATC or when the navigation problems become intense. Her ADS-B was installed for full FAA compliance.
N5318E is ready to fly you from Virginia right now.
