Airframe

This airplane has only 2550 total hours and it shows. There is very little if any hangar rash, it was painted in 2003 and hangared since (see the pictures). The right wingtip has a a deformation on it's top but is airworthy, wingtips are readily available from Knots-2-U if it bothers you. This aircraft spent most of it's life in Canada and Wisconsin, dry climates! See the pictures of the inside of the fuselage, you can see ths sides have insulation and the top and bottom are still shiny. The engine baffels have surface scale but I'm pretty happy with everything else.

Engine

The engine is beyond factory recomended TBO. The buyer can choose how to overhaul it as they like. It can easily modified to 160 HP with a piston change at the overhaul (Ram STC), when I checked the STC cost was only $350. Unfortunatly I couldn't find an airframe STC that would increase the usful load. My research indicated that since the HP increase is less rhan 10% it can be installed without an airframe STC. The buyer will have to varify this information. I removed cylinder #1 and #3 because the lower plugs were oil fouling, they were sent to Poplar grove for repair. I'm currently breaking them in. At the annual the exhaust system (muffler and three new exhaust pipes) were replaced at a cost of $6,000.

Avionics

  • Dual nav/coms, KX-155, with Glide Slope
  • KX-170B
  • KT-76A Transponder
  • KN-84 DME
  • KR-86 ADF
  • uAvionics UAX-90036-0 1tail Beacon
  • uAvionics, AV-30-C certified multi-function display
  • Genave TAU/2000 Audio panel with 3 LMB
  • NAT 4-way intercom with pilot isolation switch
  • ELT with remote panel mounted switch
  • Aerospace Logic digital engine and fuel gauges
  • The avionics are older but seem to all be working well.
  • The vacuum horizon was replaced with a uAvionice AV-3-C certified MFD, I'm impressed with it. The vacuum DG can alse be cost effectively replaced and the vacuum pump removed.

Interior

Interior
The interior is in good condition. (see pictures)

  • After spending its first year in Dallas, Texas, this airplane was exported to Ontario, Canada in 1975 where it stayed until it was sold and returned to the United States in 2007. It was based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin then moved to Wausau, Wisconsin in 2015. It was always hangered and in a dry climate. There is no known damage history. It was painted in 2003; paint and interior are in good condition. Avionics are in good working order. The engine gauges were swapped out for light bar/digital gauges made by Aerospace Logic under STC, they include EGT, CHT, Amps/volts, OAT and fuel quantity.
  • With doors on both sides and a roomy cockpit, access is better than most light singles. Dual controls and brakes make it well suited for training. With 58-gallon fuel tanks, duration with a light payload is exceptional. The engine is beyond the factory recommended TBO. Two of the cylinders were recently sent to Poplar Grove engine shop for repair and recertification.

Remarks

This ad might be a bit windy but I think it's a good airplanbe, it is priced to have the engine overhauled and still be in the airplane at a good price. Check it out these baby Beeches don't come up for sale often!
