Red Box International RBL4000 portable lithium aircraft ground power and engine start unit, 28V DC. This is professional aviation ground support equipment used to start turbine and piston aircraft and helicopters. It is lightweight and portable, the kind of unit operators keep on hand as a backup or standby start unit to spare the aircraft's onboard battery and guarantee a start in the hangar, on the ramp, or at a remote site.
Ours saw very little use. We ran a helicopter for aerial photography and this unit was our backup start power, so it was only used a handful of times and is in excellent, almost like new condition.
Current status
When switched on, the unit's digital voltmeter displays 28.2V (the manufacturer's label lists 28V as fully charged). It powers up and shows a full charge on its meter. We have not put it into service or run any load test beyond turning it on, so the buyer is welcome to inspect and test it.
