Cessna marketed the Q-model with the "Cutlass" name to associate it with the retractable-gear 172RG, but the Q-model features fixed landing gear.

While the 172Q provides a hefty useful load, it is noticeably more sensitive to aft center of gravity (CG) limits compared to standard Skyhawks, so passenger and baggage loading must be carefully managed
