1975 National Aeronautics Cassutt 3M - not for everyone

Not everyone should own a Cassutt. That’s what makes this one special.

Up for sale is a beautiful 1975 Cassutt 3M, and quite possibly the best-equipped Cassutt in existence. This is a serious little airplane for a serious pilot: aerobatic airframe rated to +/-12 Gs, exceptionally fast, ridiculously efficient, and guaranteed to turn heads everywhere it goes.

Powered by a stock O-200 swinging a carbon fiber prop, this airplane absolutely scoots. It cruises at 170 MPH indicated at 75% power while burning only 5.5 GPH, and will show 200 MPH indicated at full power. Vne is 248 MPH indicated. For what it is, the performance is absurd.

This Cassutt is not just fast, it is unusually well-equipped. It features autopilot, a glass EFIS, a brand-new uAvionix AV-20, and tailBeaconX. If you know Cassutts, you know that is not normal.
