The additional horsepower dramatically improves takeoff and climb capability, especially on water where takeoff runs have been reduced from roughly 28 seconds in a standard 912-powered configuration to approximately 7 seconds under normal conditions. This significantly reduces hull wear while allowing operation from smaller lakes and tighter environments. Paired with the 5 blade ground adjustable Duc propeller, the aircraft delivers excellent efficiency and smooth performance. A previously installed constant speed propeller was removed in favor of the simpler and more effective Duc setup, resulting in improved performance and reduced pilot workload. For buyers seeking the ultimate version of this airframe, the 916 conversion is widely considered the most desirable configuration available.
