About the D-11

The Jodel D11 is a fixed-wing, two-seat monoplane designed in response to a government request for a low-wing aircraft suitable for flying clubs. It utilizes a conventional tailwheel configuration with a fixed, spatted undercarriage and accommodates a pilot and passenger side-by-side inside an all-wood construction utilizing a single piece box-spar.

Developed by French designers who combined elements from two earlier projects, the prototype achieved its maiden flight in April 1950. Thousands of examples have since been built and flown through licence-building by various European and international manufacturers, as well as through home-built amateur construction using provided plans.
