About the 303

The Cessna 303 is an American fixed-wing, type-certificated light twin-engined aircraft built with a four-seat capacity and powered by two engines. Developed by the Cessna Aircraft Company, it features an all-metal low-wing configuration with a retractable tricycle undercarriage and suits private operations as well as air taxi roles.

The aircraft's origins trace back to the initial four-seat Clipper prototype that first flew in early 1978. Following a decline in market demand for four-place light twins and trademark concerns regarding the original name, the manufacturer redesigned the airframe into a six-seat twin designated as the T303 Crusader, which made its maiden flight in late 1979 and commenced deliveries in late 1981. Production concluded after hundreds were built, with surviving examples continuing to operate in regions such as Europe, Australia, the United Kingdom, and Colombia.
